ECONOMY

Composite materials are combinations of materials, offering advantages over conventional materials and eliminating their disadvantages.

The idea of combining two materials into one new material is not new. Even houses in the Stone Age were built from clay and straw. A modern example is reinforced concrete, where the reinforcement absorbs the tractive forces and the cement absorbs the compressive forces.

There are now solutions and opportunities for making even steel, cement or aluminum look old – the combination of glass fibre and resin systems.

Thanks to intelligent research and product development, such material combinations can be used specifically and safely, not just with ease, but also to offer additional very strong advantages over conventional materials:

  • high level of strength with low weight
  • corrosion- and weather-resistant
  • no rotting or rusting
  • electrically insulating – no earthing necessary
  • high durability with minimal maintenance costs
  • simple and economical processing and assembly
  • environmentally friendly production and usage
  • recycling with 100% recycling guarantee

ECOLOGICAL VISION

Our composite materials feature an excellent life-cycle assessment. Even during production we require considerably less energy than is required for steel and aluminum production.

This sparing use of resources highlights the future-oriented significance of GRP. Our materials also score well when it comes to recycling.

With the unique take- back system for composite materials – composite recycling – 100% usage is guaranteed. As there are composite materials (GRP) made of glass fibre – in other words, sand in thermoset matrix – these can be used in the cement industry as a high-class substitute for primary raw materials and fossil fuels.

The recycling of 1,000 tonnes of composite materials allows us to save around 450 tonnes of coal, 200 tonnes of limestone/chalk, 200 tonnes of sand and 150 tonnes of aluminum oxide. At the end, there is no dust, ash or any other residual products remaining.
